This is the first course in UK reviewing and re-educating the way in which spinals, epidurals and paravertebral blocks are performed using these novel US techniques.
We will give you lectures, demonstrations about how to perform these blocks.

There will be plenty of time for practical experience to practise what has been learn from the anatomy demonstrations. The experts will answer questions and give feedback.

Paravertebral blocks
These blocks are extremely important in providing pain relief to patients undergoing thoracic and breast surgery. We will teach not only the block technique but touch on the use of paravertebral catheters to provide extended pain relief
Psoas compartment block
Commonly performed for numerous surgical procedures this block is very useful.The anatomy will refreshed and there will be ample time to practise both in plane and out of plane approaches
Spinal block
We will show you how to count vertebraes, identify the midline and measure the distance to the subarachnoid space.

Epidural space
Further knowledge of the anatomy and US methodology of this space allows a safer approach to epidurals.This is particularly important in the obese and those with prior spinal conditions.
