This is the fifth year of our project. The aim is to attend the great demand for regional anaesthetic techniques. We will keep you interested and busy with a variety of exciting practical activities over two days. Our Faculty speakers and workshop leaders will answer your questions.
It is an impressive 1:2 ratio between Faculty & Delegate gving you a more personal learning experience. We want to know you ,we want you to know us.
Simulator Lab:
This year we have organized a session on local anaesthetic toxicity. We will discuss the guidelines for the management of severe toxicity, including the basic principles of resuscitation and the use of intralipid.
We will also focus on new, pioneering needling techniques.
Hands on practice & Cadaver workshop
There will be 4 or 5 people in each group and you will spend 30 minutes at each work station. The use of ultrasound is imperative in our workshops, the leaders will demonstrate probe orientation and sono -anatomy. You will have ample opportunity to get 'hands on' scanning time. Needling techniques will be taught using phantom models and we will dedicate extra time to assess delegate performance. With the help of the Anatomy Department at St George's we will teach you the relevant anatomy using our specially prepared specimens. Our demonstrators will teach you boundaries, nerve distribution and will adapt their teaching to the use of regional anaesthesia blocks.
